About the lab
The Intelligent Transportation Systems Lab (ITS Lab) is a research group at the Institute of Computer Science, University of Tartu. We study how vehicles and people move through cities, and we build the methods that make that movement safer and more efficient: perception and driver assistance for automated and connected vehicles, and machine-learning models of traffic and mobility.
Mobility problems follow from the concentration of people and markets, and they involve many factors and actors: vehicle safety, sustainability, congestion, incidents and human behaviour. The lab works in five fields that address them: mobility modelling, traffic simulation, advanced traveller information systems, advanced driver assistance systems and vehicular networking.
